Welcome to Emmanuel Temple Pentecostal Church of the Apostolic Faith

We the Family of Emmanuel believe in one God, our Lord Jesus Christ, Creator of all things, visible and invisible; made known as father in Creation, son in Redemption and Holy Spirit in the Church. Born of the virgin Mary, both human and Divine, God Jehovah Incarnate who suffered and died for our sins, was buried on the third day according to the scriptures and ascended into Heaven until the restitution of all things, and will appear in glory to be glorified with His saints who will judge with Him the living and the dead, and reign with him throughout Eternity.

Our Pastor along with a small contingent of believers formed this great church in July of 1978. Against a backdrop of much opposition this church grew to become the dynamic community institution that it is today.

Much recognition must be given to God's leader in Sandusky, our pastor, Elder Rufus G.W. Sanders. Pastor Sanders has served not only this church well, but also this community. He is a former school teacher and has served on many Boards and civic committees. He serves presently on the Board of Advisors for Bowling Green State University. He serves the city schools as a member of it's minority recruiting and retention committee. He holds the B.S. in Education degree as well as the M.A. in Psychology and Counceling and he is presently working as a pyschotherapist in private practice. He is a doctoral candidate at the Ashland Theological Seminary, Ashland, Ohio, specializing in Black Pyschology.

He has served the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World in the Youth Department as district and state chairman; as well as the International vice-chairman.

Our Pastor has ministered dynamically as an evangelist across the United States; as well as in Europe and Africa. Pastor Sanders is also an Authority on the black Pentecostal Church in America and has written several articles. He is in the process of publishing the book, William S. Seymour, Father of a Nation; the history of the Founder of the 20th century Pentecostal movement. Later this year Elder Sanders is being honored with the honorary Doctorate degree in Theology.

Pastor Sanders is married to the beautiful Jo-Ann Sanders, who serves faithfully in the church as the Director of Women programs. She has served the PAW as youth secretary on all levels including International secretary for a number of years. She is completing a B>A> in Social Psychology from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio.

Together these two young people have been instrumental in erecting a temple in Sandusky dedicated to God's glory. On our 12th anniversary we recognize our founders and we say to them "Hitherto hath the Lord helped us"
